She acts as an antispasmodic to relax your muscles, one of those muscles being your heart. Motherwort has been shown to slow down heart palpitations, rapid heartbeat, reduce painful menstrual cramps as well as help pains in the body from low back pain to tooth aches.
 
She also acts as an emmenagogue which helps to bring on delayed menstruation & can help to regulate your cycle.
 
This is a very bitter herb therfore, helps with digestion & liver function.
